What is it about humans that we need to put down others to lift ourselves? Why is it that we constantly need to compare ourselves, put ourselves at a pedestal when comparing to anyone else?
We see this with all kinds of discrimination: homophobia, racism, transphobia, chauvinism, xenophobia, and many, many more! Why does it bring so many people so much joy out of tearing people apart, dividing nations?
Wouldn’t the world be a much better place if we were united, acknowledging people’s issues and addressing them? Rather than tearing people down, killing them for things fully out of their control and that, even if people could control it, there’s absolutely no reason to kill someone because of the colour of their skin. Do you hear how ridiculous that sounds?
If a man wants to kiss another man, what’s the issue? What is actually the issue that causes such big controversy? If a trans woman says she’s a woman, who are you to tell her otherwise? If someone doesn’t want to conform to gender stereotypes, why is that affecting you?
Live your life without constantly judging others for the way they live theirs. Just people society has deemed it as ‘acceptable’ the way you live your life, maybe it’s time we start challenging those pre-set notions.
Take some time to have the conversation with yourself about why you’re so angry.
