Body Confidence
I’ve always been skinny, but in recent years I feel my metabolism slow down. I’ve tried to exercise often and it makes me feel much better – until I’m too anxious and end up eating way too much.
After weeks to not feeling well enough to go to the gym or exercise, I don’t like my body. Which makes me feel more anxious. Which makes me feel worse and eat what I shouldn’t. And that is a very vicious cycle.
I need to find a way to get out of my own head and 1. Control cravings; 2. Work out no matter how bad I feel.
Being confident in my body is something that helps me a lot with my anxiety, and so I’m feeling it take a toll recently.
Going to work for that to change! Any tips, leave them below 😉

Having a body is the most significant part of existence. It doesn’t need to be perfect and you don’t need anyone’s approval to be who you are, what you are or how you look. Don’t let the insecurities that society force upon us to quash your confidence, be proud of who you are, because you are the only you there is out there x
Stay shiny and strong beautiful friend xx

I find that exercise and eating healthily helps a lot for psychological issues (post traumatic stress for me, I suppose), by releasing endorphins, dopamine, etc. I wouldn’t want to work out in a gym, though. Being outside is a large part of the benefits of exercise for me. I don’t really have any tips, though. I’ve always been rather ruthless about self-care.

Start with small amounts of exercise, any time you can squeeze it in! For instance, if I have a few minutes at work I’ll walk up and down the stairs a few times. Or when you’re at home, if you’ve been sitting for more than a half hour, get up and do 30 push ups or hold a plank or something.

This sounds silly but I try to dance often. It’s a quick way to burn a few calories and get my body used to moving. Some times it even motivates me to go for a walk or do something else active. Even just a little hip shaking while you fold laundry will burn calories, and most likely relieve some anxiety and stress.

I can relate to this. For days when I struggle with anything more, then I find doing some yoga can help; it gets you moving and can calm the mind for when thoughts are circling. I’ve just blogged about this.

I’ve noticed that locking my door and turning up my music is a nice way to gain confidence. I dance around without a care in the world because no one can see me. I can practice being silly, and afterward I feel a rejuvenation for my situation in life.
