Anxiety Days

Are you like me when you can be fine for a while, only having the odd anxious moments or generally only being anxious for very specific reasons, and then one day comes where you feel paralysed by anxiety and you don’t know what to do?

I haven’t fully figured out yet how to make it go away (maybe professionals would have a better idea, of course), but I do know that when these days come around I need to take them for myself, take the time to heal and let my thoughts get organised again. I also know though, that the line between taking time for myself and isolating myself is very thin, and I need to know exactly when that alone time needs to come to an end, or it might do more damage than good.

The thing that bothers me is not knowing what I’m anxious about. Most days it has a reason, but these days it can just come and linger around for absolutely no good reason, meaning I don’t know how to make it go away (at all).

Have you gotten like this before? How do you make anxiety go away when you don’t really know the source of it?

Let me know below, please 😊

  1. I definitely can empathize. Since my anxiety tends to be my feeling of not being able to control an outcome to a situation in my life,I try to write maybe 3-5 things that are in my control. Maybe also write 1 or two instances where my voice was heard. It doesn’t always work immediately, and I still forget to do it at times. But it can bring my anxiety level down a notch. I hope this might help you.

  2. If you don’t know the source, there’s no way to prevent a reoccurrance. You can accept it, allow yourself to be in the feeling, then let it go. Inspite of the reason, it doesn’t have to control your life, if you don’t allow it. Try to refocus your attention to something pleasant. 🙂

  3. Everything has a reason. At times, the big things we want so badly manifest their sadness in the everyday, smaller things of life. So try doing, even if a little bit, of something you love. Most importantly, talk to your friends. Nothing helps more than that! 🙂

  4. Have you tried meditation? Calm and headspace are good apps to get you started. Sometimes focusing on the breath can be very relaxing. There are other apps and techniques, but meditation has been a Godsend for me.

  5. I have the exact same thing… it is getting more and more… so I tried to look deep into myself and question everything. It turned out to be a deep feeling of lack of self fulfilling and missing action upon my true purpose on this earth…
So after having my things in order, have developed talent, passion and clarity for one thing I’m working now on myself to actually be the person I need to be to deliver my promise for this world. The promise I made when I was born to this earth. The purpose what was planted to my heart needs to be finally brought to life and not going around in circles or in freaking blindfold.

    It’s time!

  6. I usually don’t immediately know what triggers those out of the blue anxiety attacks but when they happen I try to calm myself immediately by repeating over and over again “Distressing but not dangerous”. This helps get it under control and then I can dig into what could be causing it. When I do figure it out, helps to further calm me. ((hugs)) Hope you can find some relief.

  7. That happens really often with me when I’m so anxious and then frustrated with myself because I don’t even know why I’m anxious.

I keep trying to have a new mindset. Instead of frustration, to acceptance.
To accept I may not find out why but to try and calm it instead.

Still, a work in progress as they usually are 🙂
